Installing native-recipe

npm

npm install @lynstack/native-recipe

pnpm

pnpm add @lynstack/native-recipe

yarn

yarn add @lynstack/native-recipe

Its one dependency is @lynstack/recipe. React Native is a peer dependency: the package checks styles against its types, and imports nothing from it at runtime.

Requirements

Needs	Supported
TypeScript	5.4 or newer
JavaScript	ES2022: Node.js 16.9, Chrome 93, Firefox 92, Safari 15.4, or newer
Modules	ES modules only: import it, or require it from Node.js 20.19, 22.12, or newer
React Native	0.80 or newer, as in Expo SDK 54 or newer

TypeScript 5.4 or newer

Older versions cannot read the types: before 5.0 they fail to parse them, and from 5.0 to 5.3 they report Cannot find name 'NoInfer'. With skipLibCheck, that error is hidden, but the options of compound variants are no longer checked.

Using a coding agent?

Install the agent skill too. It teaches Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and other agents to keep styles stable and to build them from theme tokens.
